Omaha Hi-Lo (4 and 5 Card)

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha Eight or Better) is a split-pot game that blends the action of Omaha with the complexity of low hand qualifiers. Each player is dealt either 4 or 5 hole cards and must use exactly two in combination with three community cards—just like in standard Omaha.

The pot is split between the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand. To qualify for the low, a player must make a five-card hand with five different cards ranked 8 or lower (no pairs). Straights and flushes don’t affect the low hand. The best low is A-2-3-4-5, and it can simultaneously be a straight or a flush, allowing a player to “scoop” the entire pot.

In the 5-card version, players have even more options and potential draws, adding a layer of depth to an already strategic game. The dual nature of pot-splitting forces players to consider not just the strength of their hand, but their equity in both directions. On our platform, Omaha Hi-Lo is available with full customization of betting structure (Pot Limit and Cap formats), rake, seat count, and tournament support. It’s a must-have for serious mixed game rotations.
